Mattermost v1.2.1: Easy Onboarding, Enhanced Search, Community Applications
You can install Mattermost v1.2.1 today and view source code here (if you like what you see, please give us a star?).
Mattermost now offers new users an optional tutorial to show new users how to use messages, channels, and search as well as how to access different system settings.
Optional tutorial trains new users how to discover and use Mattermost features
Feedback from early deployments is that end users have different levels of familiarity with messaging tools. In-app help was needed to accelerate adoption from new users, so it’s now included.
We’ve also made managing Mattermost deployments easier for IT admins past the install stage, with an improved Upgrade Guide, Trouble Shooting Guide, and Administrator’s Guide.
Cloud Foundry BOSH release for Mattermost deploys the system on Azure, AWS, vSphere, GCE and OpenStack
The community is also helping expand Mattermost compatibility, and last week a new Cloud Foundry BOSH release for Mattermost became available to deploy the system across Azure, AWS, vSphere, and GCE (thanks to Dr Nic!).
Full text search is upgraded with in-context help and advanced search modifiers to filter searches across channels and users.
Enhanced search offers in-context help, and easy-to-use filters for searching in channels and from users
Users can now also search through lists of hundreds of team members by username or real name in the Direct Messages interface, to quickly find whoever they need to reach.
Outgoing webhooks are now available to connect with a host of open source applications created for Mattermost, including Hubot for Mattermost and the Matterbridge IRC bridge.
Hubot lets Mattermost users interact with a wide array of 3rd party automation and tools

Syntax highlighting now available in markdown code blocks. Choose your favorite code theme under Accounts Setting > Appearance.
Hugely grateful to all our contributors for v1.2, in no particular order:
